We've been working really hard all week making pies and bread and little goodies for your table tomorrow. Despite the long hours, we've been really happy. Busy, but happy. And it's all worth it when we're able to hand over delicious gluten free food to people that wouldn't have pie or bread otherwise.
We decided to close for Thanksgiving because we're sane. We need a day off and time to spend with friends and family. We're actually having a really quiet affair with a few friends. I've been calling all of us orphans because we're all without family for this holiday. In order to be sure that everything we make is 100% gluten free, we're cooking everything at our home, with the added treat that everyone is going to come over help with the cooking. Of course the only other difficulty is the fact that we're doing a Gluten Free and Vegan Thanksgiving so that everyone feels equally loved and full of good food.
I read an article on cooking for vegans for Thanksgiving that said "Vegan foods are inclusive, not exclusive". So that's what we're going for, an inclusive meal that everyone at the table can enjoy without worrying about whether it's safe for them to eat.
We will be open again Friday for pick ups, if you want to place an order. And please drop by on Saturday 12 - 4pm to see what kind of goodies (and samples) we'll have available.
