Saturday at the Market

Where have we been, right? Well running around like crazy. We were delivering a wedding cake last weekend (photos soon), but we're back at the Hillsboro Farmers' Market again this weekend and look to be there through the end of the season. You may have noticed our absence at Cully. We're no longer doiong a Sunday market.

Today is Celebrate Hillsboro in Downtown Hillsboro. You can find us near our normal spot on Main Street between 2nd and 3rd Aves. And we'll be there from 8 am - 5pm. Because of this, we won't be in Cully on Sunday. But we'll be back to NE Portland next Sunday.

We're pretty late with the menu this week. We're looking forward to the sunshine (and maybe some real heat) this weekend. If you're staying in town for the 4th, we hope to see you at either our Saturday or Sunday market.

Salt Fire & Time General Store

If you've ever picked up something from us, you know that we have some great neighbors in our building, including Salt Fire & Time.

We're so happy that the Friday Feasts have started again (we're doing the desserts again this year) and we love the happy and relaxed atmosphere that usually includes hanging out in the backyard at picnic tables or standing by the fire pit, not to mention the excellent food. It's always available gluten free and Tressa definitely understands about cross-contamination.

If you haven't been by in awhile, what you might not know is that Salt Fire & Time now has a General Store for all kinds of natural, prepared food. It's almost all Gluten Free and includes a selection of products (inluding books, eggs and tea) from local vendors. Not to mention, we've got some of our gluten free pies and cookies in the store. It's a great place to stop by for lunch or to buy supplies for a meal at home.

Gluten Free Pies at Pacific Pie Co

As of yesterday, Pacific Pie Company is carrying three gluten free pies made by us.

If you're not already familiar with them, Pacific Pie Company makes delicious aussie pies and has a new, better restaurant space at SE 7th & Clay.

We've worked with them a little in the past to provide gluten free options for a few catered events. With their new store, they wanted to provide gluten free pies on a regular basis. We're making three flavors for them: chicken curry pies, sweet potato-basil pies, and apple pie.

Last weekend was really good for us at the Hillsboro Farmers' Market. Thanks to everyone that stopped by and bought treats or even just oohed or aahed as they walked past. Seems like the market is really picking up. Every weekend there are more people.

We did some sun-dancing last weekend and even managed to see blue sky for a bit. We're hoping to at least keep the rain at bay this week. But we hope to see you even if we get a little wet!

You may have noticed that we have jelly donuts on the list. You may be thinking to yourself, "Who knew you could make gluten free donuts?" Well I'm here to tell you that not only is it possible, but they're delicious. These particular ones are a fried brioche filled with raspberry preserves. They're sweet, gooey, and everything you want a donut to be.

We'll  be in Hillsboro again tomorrow with our delicious treats.

I wanted to make some joke about tomorrow being the end of the world and therefore we all need to eat yummy things, but I either sounded too sarcastic or like I believe it. It's weird, but the true things being said are funnier than I could ever be.
